Bequest Language

Include Menninger in Your Will

A gift through your will or living trust is one of the simplest and most flexible ways to create a lasting legacy at Menninger.

This type of gift costs nothing during your lifetime, allows you to maintain control of your assets, and can be changed if your circumstances or priorities change.

Your bequest can be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, a particular asset, or the remainder of your estate after other obligations are met.

We recommend sharing the sample language below with your attorney as you consider your plans.

Sample Bequest Language

Unrestricted Bequest Language
“I give to The Menninger Clinic Foundation, Tax ID #81-0588012, a nonprofit organization located at 12301 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77035, the sum of $___ or ___% of my estate to be used for its general charitable purposes.”

Restricted Bequest Language
“I give to The Menninger Clinic Foundation, Tax ID #81-0588012, a nonprofit organization located at 12301 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77035, the sum of $___ or ___% of my estate to be used for the support of ___Patient Care ___Education/Training ___Community Initiatives ___Research.”

“If changed circumstances should ever make it impossible, impracticable, or inadvisable to administer my gift in exactly the manner set forth above, The Menninger Clinic Foundation may redirect the purpose of my gift, provided that the use adheres as closely as possible to my original intent.”
