Include Menninger in Your Will
Including Menninger in your will is an easy and meaningful way to support advances in mental health care without altering your current lifestyle. If you’ve planned a bequest to Menninger, please let us know at giving@menninger.edu so we may recognize you as part of our Heritage Society.
Below is an example of bequest wording that you may share with your attorney if you wish to make a gift to The Menninger Clinic Foundation through your will or living trust. Your gift can be a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. You can choose to leave your gift for general use, or you can restrict its use.
Unrestricted Bequest Language
“I give to The Menninger Clinic Foundation (Tax ID#: 81-0588012), a nonprofit organization located at 12301 Main Street in Houston, Texas, the sum of $_______________ (or _________% of my estate) to be used for its general charitable purposes.”
Restricted Bequest Language
“I give to The Menninger Clinic Foundation (Tax ID#: 81-0588012), a nonprofit organization located at 12301 Main Street in Houston, Texas, the sum of $_______________ (or _________% of my estate) to be used for the support of (funding priority of your choice—for example, mental health research, training and education, or outreach).
“If changed circumstances should ever make it impossible, impracticable, or inadvisable to administer my gift in exactly the manner set forth above, then The Menninger Clinic Foundation may redirect the purpose of my gift provided that the terms adhere as closely as possible to my original intent.”
