New Outpatient Services Center Takes Shape

The Outpatient Services CenterIf you visit The Menninger Clinic’s John M. O’Quinn Campus, you will notice quite a transformation. In November 2020, Menninger broke ground on a new twostory, 33,000-square-foot building dedicated to outpatient mental health services. The Outpatient Services Center, as it is called, is now quickly taking shape. The center was made possible through the generosity of Menninger’s donors, who contributed more than $14 million toward the building’s capital campaign.

A grand opening is planned for late summer of this year. When complete, the center’s first floor will house 15 consultation rooms for outpatient therapy and assessment; meeting space for support groups; a brain stimulation suite offering treatments such as ketamine infusion and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT); and a sleep lab to evaluate sleep problems that may be caused by, or contributing to, a mental health disorder.

The second floor of the Outpatient Services Center is being “shelled” to allow for the expansion of future patient care programs. However, as substance use has risen dramatically during the past two years of the pandemic, a capital fundraising campaign is already underway to build out part of the second floor for a new Center for Addiction Medicine and Recovery. To learn more about the campaign, contact Director of Philanthropy Kirsten Schachter at 713-275-5270 or kschachter@menninger.edu.

Menninger is grateful to the many donors who have helped to bring this important addition to our campus.
